Admissions

If you are interested in your child joining us, either in our main intake into Reception or at any other time, please do come along and visit us.   If you would like to make an appointment to visit, please contact Mrs Wendy Humphreys here at the school.

If we can make a place available to you then we will. If not, you would have the right to appeal to a panel that is independent of the school and we would place your child’s name on a waiting list for vacancies.

We have our own admissions policy because we are an Academy School and have responsibility for admissions decisions. Our policy is reviewed every year – we take part in the Council’s annual consultation in December and January and welcome the views of our local community.

If we have a vacancy then all children are welcome to join us. If we are oversubscribed, we still welcome all children but give priority to particular groups: children who are looked after by the local authority, children with an exceptional need to come to our school, children who live in our catchment, children with siblings already here. We only use these over subscription criteria when we are oversubscribed. For full details of our admission arrangements, please look at our admissions policies.

We take part in the co-ordinated admissions schemes of Devon County Council which help parents to make applications for admission to school. Parents can apply through Devon for in-year admissions and through the local authority where the child lives for the normal round of admissions.

If you would like further information, please contact us in school on 01884 855357 or Devon’s Admissions Service on 0345 155 1019

Admissions Policy for 2027–2028: Annual Consultation

Alongside all other schools and academies in Devon, we are consulting on our admissions policy for 2027–2028. The Local Authority is also consulting on its own admission arrangements. You are invited to review the proposals and share your views. Our proposed policy is above. You can view all policies at http://devon.cc/schoolpolicy , and further information is available at www.devon.gov.uk/admissionarrangements

The formal consultation period runs until 16th January 2026. All policies will be determined on 28th January 2026 and published by 15th March 2026.

Harbour Schools Partnership

The Harbour Schools Partnership (formerly Tarka Learning Partnership and Ventrus Multi Academy Trust) was established in April 2025. It is our mission to deliver excellence through collaboration to realise the right of every child to flourish.
