Our Vision

Church of England’s Vision for Education

Our vision for education is deeply Christian, with Jesus’ promise of ‘life in all its fullness’ at its heart.

In line with the Church of England’s role as the established Church, our vision is for the common good of the whole community.

Bickleigh-on-Exe Primary School aims to serve its local and wider community by providing an education of the highest quality within the context of Christian belief and practice.  We encourage an understanding of the meaning and significance of faith and, promote a Christian vision and values through the experiences we offer all pupils. Our vision and values are based on and derive from what Jesus described in the Bible as “live life in all its fullness”, (John 10:10).

Bickleigh-on-Exe Primary School’s Vision

Our vision: “Challenge Explore Flourish Together” is used to plan and evaluate all that we do. Our Local Governing Body, staff and pupils have agreed the following definitions to help us deliver these common goals.

Challenge

We encourage pupils to ‘reach for the highest’. We create opportunities for pupils to push themselves, to try new things and not be afraid of making mistakes.

Explore

Our school is a place where we instil and promote curiosity.  Pupils are encouraged to question ‘why?’ and supported to explore their understanding and beliefs.

Flourish

We want all our pupils to flourish and be the best they can be. We believe that a flourishing life is diverse, connected, outward-looking and gives to others.

Together

We focus on the diversity, well-being and progress of every child where all members of our community are equal. We celebrate our differences and strive to remove barriers and disadvantages which people may face. Our pupils are taught that they can achieve so much more when they work together.
